Colorful Sanctuary

Yellow light creeps onto my back

illuminating the trepidation

that grips my shivering spine

Green light seduces my eyes

disclosing the covetous nature

of my wandering orbs

Red light seeps into my bosom

revealing the inner lusts

of my tormented heart

Orange light dances upon my head

displaying the earthly pride

I took from man’s praising words

Purple light grips my open palms

reflecting the calloused evidence

of a wealthy life I sought

Blue light bears down upon my forehead

unmasking the pensive thoughts

of my own impending mortality

White light engulfs my soul

bringing forth the mercy begged, kneeling

within this stained glass, colorful sanctuary
