Colorful

my grandson loves this video, and so do I; it exemplifies emotional abandonment after getting someone fired up

I feel like the colors in this book,

all of these different emotions and attitudes

spewing out of me.

People come into my life

and open me up,

get all of the juicy colors flowing--

they're so hungry for color,

demanding it until the flow begins, then they try

to turn my colors off, and when that doesn't work,

they slam the book shut

and continue in their pale, colorless lives,

thinking they've left me to drown alone

in all of my colors they insisted on experiencing,

finding themselves overwhelmed,

blame me for being too colorful,

waiting to watch me

explode off the page

and call it their art.
