Color + Me

Color in the now

By Fermin DiazPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Thanks to the,

Blue, green, and red,

I’m not dead.

I’ve kept fed,

And beyond the worst nights,

Once again,

I have a bed.

That being said,

I don't have enough yellow,

Now hardly a hello,

But it's borne from gesture,

Plenty mellow,

I'll keep singing unbothered joy,

Like the crisp wails of a cello,

And a bellow,

Though I bear copper skin,

I know the sharks with which I swim,

And so I look within,

Enveloped in the big blue,

My epidermis forged anew,

Armor of bronze,

The warrior's way,

Leaves no room for the pawns mentality,

Insanity in the eyes of Newton,

Has my principles bursting,

Like a pluton,

The black and white,

The yin and yang,

Focused on an unending difference,

From where progress originally sprang,

In the end,

The actors of the world,

Move amidst the grey,

And they mold it like clay,

Creators will have their way,

And so we must leave entropy be,

Let it not consume what we are meant to be,

For it is we,

Who can don maroon,

Be it blood, dirt, and divinity,

It lives within thee,

Red, black, white, green, and blue,

Why can't you hug the other side of you?

Ignorance be as it may,

There is no need to stone another,

Who just wants to be,

Embrace the colors,

Of our sisters and brothers.
