Color me in

I color myself in

By Karlie LanePublished 5 years ago 2 min read

To color me in

I have no numbers

No rules

Just memories of old shadows

and days that led to where I am today.

So many have colored me what they please

Never giving me a chance to choose

to hear my voice

Color me in

With all those chances that

You were given

How many times you turned me

Brown, black, blue, purple

I have bounced back from those shades

created my own rainbow

My own magic

I now color myself in

I choose the vibrance in the jump

from yellow to green

I choose the deepness of the red

Turn it into burgundy

I see the magic

In all things others don’t

I color that magic in with glitter

Gold and silver rain down on my soul

I believe in the magic of strength

The power of an influence

that will never leave your mind

Then sinks in the pain of missing

The agony of losing

An uncle, a grandfather, your father

The shades then turn back into dark

I choose to not sit in that darkness

I color myself in with light

The sunshine is fierce

Blinding in your sight…

Do not question the influence of his love

And his love

Do not think

that I have washed all the pain away

I am just choosing

to live my life fully for someone

Who always made

the conscious decision to color me in

Who saw my rarity

My vision of life that others do not see

To simply love, love

To simply see the beauty in every

God damn thing on this planet

To color her in

Is to accept

every little inch of hope she holds

And wears on her sleeves

Color me in

See my soul as I have processed through

my subconscious symbolism

now I have fallen in love with someone

who Helps me, color myself in

Energy intertwines and the magic

Explodes

As we all start somewhere

Our colors change

Mine have continued

to become more magical

I will be unique in my shine

I see a perfect purple with a

hint of fairy dust,

Creation

Imagination

I am a professional Kid

Teaching those how to be

The best they can be

Color me in as you see me

Judge me

as I see myself as someone

Who will always continue to learn

Always continue to grow

Always be able to handle your

Constructive criticism

Because it is helpful

The I will continue to lift

Those up around me

Because being at the top

isn’t fun by yourself

Being at the top

isn’t being rich with money

Materials, junk…

It’s the color of the wind you stand in

The scent of the flowers

you choose to

breath in

I take in every moment

as it is my mind that takes me

To my own little wonderland

I am as joyful as yellow

As sensitive as blue

As deep as red

As confident as purple

Color me in brightly

With the calmness of

What I hope to always continue to be...

Pure Happiness

Healthiness

And Ever Continued Hope.
