Color Blind

A world without color

The world says we should be color blind

But I would never want to stop seeing color

The blue of the sea and the sky

The green of the grass and the trees

The yellow of the flowers and the bees

Everywhere around me the world is bursting with colors

Each one unique and beautiful

I want to recognize the beauty of each individual color

The beauty in being different and the beauty of being the same

Next time the world says do not recognize color

I will say but color is what makes our world so beautiful
