Cold Icicles in Glade Spring

Cold Weather in Glade Spring

Deep in the mountains of Virginia,

Snow has fallen,

Glade Spring is cold,

The icicles drop off the house,

What a sight to behold,

As the weather dips,

The logs are in the fireplace,

Keeping us warm,

The railroads are frozen,

The snow falls,

Harder by the hour,

It piles higher,

While we sit by the fire,

Drinking hot chocolate,

The icicles dangle like frozen stalactites,

From the roof,

The roads are icy,

Slippery as they are,

I can't drive my car,

The sky is gray,

While the children go out to play,

For them it is a lovely day,

The snow-capped mountains,

Give a lovely view,

While we sit there,

Cooking beef stew,

The weather is cold,

The water drips,

Forming an icicle,

Down the side of the house,

In the town of Glade Spring.
