Cold, black elixir trickling down my throat
Some days it is warm as its cream fills my gut
Its energy powers my life
Without it
There is nothing but strife
In a world too loud and chaotic
It makes existence possible
The drink of the gods?
Or a devilish bargain struck
No matter what
I am now stuck
Addicted to its smell
Now and forever

A poem to coffee! Ohh the addiction! Me, a life long tea drinker fell into the coffee trap. Easy to get into, but hard to get out. 😁
I really feel like a coffee now!
"Without it There is nothing but strife" - Same here! 🥰 Thanks for sharing~
I never did learn to like drinking coffee. But I always have loved the smell. I certainly do identify with the old Folger's commercial: "The best part of waking up is Folger's in your cup." And the holiday commercials were some of the best.
Gotta have some coffee
I love coffee! How did you know?
