Coffee

A Poem

Cold, black elixir trickling down my throat

Some days it is warm as its cream fills my gut

Its energy powers my life

Without it

There is nothing but strife

In a world too loud and chaotic

It makes existence possible

The drink of the gods?

Or a devilish bargain struck

No matter what

I am now stuck

Addicted to its smell

Now and forever

A poem to coffee! Ohh the addiction! Me, a life long tea drinker fell into the coffee trap. Easy to get into, but hard to get out. 😁

"Without it There is nothing but strife" - Same here! 🥰 Thanks for sharing~

  • I never did learn to like drinking coffee. But I always have loved the smell. I certainly do identify with the old Folger's commercial: "The best part of waking up is Folger's in your cup." And the holiday commercials were some of the best.
