Caffeine dreams of nicotine screams

spilling into your ears.

Eyes on the road, while you talked in code

over the radio.

It was night at the start of the fight

and we didn't win,

under the shots sped our thoughts

into the dawn.

And we missed when we kissed

at sunrise.

Blazing trails, too many fails.

And you're gone.

Checking the road where the rage flowed

into our love.

No one believed we'd survive the speed

of reality.

So we screamed while we dreamed

under the bridge.

Now all the fear since your not here,

bleeds in my ears

I wasn't prepared to be the one spared,

now I'm alone.
