Bright city lights beam into the sky
Choking the heroine’s brilliance
The world is rushing to beat the loneliness
And yet she is standing still.
It’s easier to disassociate than feel the weight of it all.
And so she climbs
Higher and higher
The questions fade away
Replaced by a symbiotic harmony
As she lays her head her body follows
Her sight aimed towards the burg
Intentions whispered in the air
Leave behind a trail of smoke
Her fingers dance in its wake.
The second hand ticks
Her ears refuse to listen
She knows she’ll have to leave this sanctum
Let it house another story
Just a few minutes more
And she’ll force herself to rise.
She’ll find her place inside the web
Stuck once again
Until she starts to climb.
I'd love to hear what you think! Do you need to climb and hide away sometimes?
