Thinking about the sky

approaching

F luorescent body // absorbing from the feet

U p and out we reach each day moving between pastel and neon

C an I count the shades of black that fill your body

K elp fading merging into bistre

C areful not to let your shade sink into the white

A cting dull might mean you never shine bright

P eel back the L ayers prone to flakes

I feel the city’s sweat E asing me deeper into the mixture

T he same grey T hat fills our London pictures

A nd here I am lost in the L oom of to do’s and must haves

L etting my best drip O n to “not enoughs”

I want to be a shade of blue V ast W ide

S imple //y E nough I n hopes that

M aybe one day I can exhale into a future without N umbers and nickel
