City Lights
A Contrast of Light and Darkness
By Lydia LichtiPublished 3 years ago • Updated 3 years ago • 1 min read

The city lies below the hill
Distant, evanescent, still
The city lights, they dangle there
As though supported by thin air
Like winking stars beneath your feet
Their own secrets to tell
And where the sky and city meet
Darkness never fell
I’d just as soon not travel there
But sit and fascinated, stare
Reflections of the starry skies
The city’s innocent disguise
