Circles around my dreams

the gift of purpose

I run circles around my dreams—

sometimes my nightmares,

so close, both within reach.

That is why I keep going.

The cat-and-mouse of longing

is ultimately worth it in the end.

We don’t get anywhere by giving up.

I fail. Then I’m five steps ahead.

Fail again. Rise again.

Passion is the tool.

Passion makes me bloodthirsty to prevail.

I was called for this, to thrive.

What is this?

This is poetry. This is love.

This is God.

When I capture it, I will set it free

returning all of me.
