Cigarettes And Goodbyes
It’s A Complicated Game
We shared a pack of cigarettes, the first day that we met
the breeze blew all the smoke into our eyes
It was a moment of revealing, as the sun began to set
I knew that I could never say goodbye
*
Do you remember how the wind blew, before it disappeared,
How it danced and swirled in memories we made?
Stirring up emotions that now make me feel weird,
I’d be happy just to let go of the pain.
*
I couldn’t look away,
you stole the spotlight from the stars
Your smile released me from my cage
inside my head, without the bars
*
Like you were heaven sent-
as if, you walked out of the sun
I swear I never will forget
your arms felt to me, like home
****
Its just a complicated game
