Christmas Spirit

A Poem

Holiday movies play on the television.

People are dressed in cozy Christmas sweaters,

With blankets wrapped around them.

***

They sip on marshmallow-crowed hot chocolate,

Snacking on fresh popcorn,

As fat snowflakes fall outside.

***

The tree is the crown jewel in the living room,

The ornaments catching the glow of the tree lights.

Presents are tucked underneath the tree as they wait to be opened.

***

The candles flicker in the dim room,

Everyone falling asleep on the couch or floor,

Counting down the days until Christmas comes.
