Christmas Poems

Part 2

By Paula RowlandsPublished about a year ago 2 min read

I Still Believe

I still believe in Love

and the magical realm above

the mistletoe and Christmas glow

hot choc mint, white soft snow

But in Australia, it’s summertime

loads of flies, in their prime

sausage sizzles, sweltering days

tanning under, the sun’s rays

I still believe, in dreams coming true

but alone each year, brings sparks of blue

Now once again, Christmas is here

so I force a smile and give a cheer

Others are hurting, more than I

so I wish them well, and look to the sky

We mustn’t give in, we must not mope

Miracles happen, don’t give up hope.

'Tis the Season

Come one come all

break down the wall

let hearts be jolly

deck halls with holly

Cookies, Carols, Mistletoe

Santa, Chimneys, winter snow

don’t be shy, lets celebrate

get the lights & decorate

read a story, a poem or two

set up the tree, old or new

‘Tis the season to rejoice

Festive or Frosty, you have a choice.

Hallmark Christmas 2024

A Hallmark Christmas and full moon beam

I could watch all year, would be my dream

The Love, the happiness & hot cocoa

the spirit of Christmas and soft white snow

the cookies and treats, decorations galore

the festivities and markets and so much more

Oh how I love - good wishes coming true

I live through movies, that’s what I do.

For here in Australia, we have the heat

dreams are hard yakka, most days we’re beat

I don’t mind the beach and barbie or two

cook a few snags & salads will do

But family is distant, and money is tight

the spirit of Christmas isn’t so bright

and being alone makes me lose my spark

so I live and love my Christmas Hallmark.
