Chin Up

Things get hard and sometimes we can forget, this me telling myself to "just try one more time"

Run.

It’s hard, I know.

There is no end in sight

The darkness is deafening

The cold smells of despair

and every breath you draw

is bitter. Nothing sweet about it.

It's difficult watching people

pass by, leisurely walking,

yet still surpassing you…

Just take another step

that's all you can do.

Chin up.

Once you hit bottom

there is only up and

a light will always shine

at the end of a tunnel, right?

That’s what they say at least.

I can’t really vouch for that part

because just like you I fall

trip, slip, slide, stumble,

get discouraged and just

stop in my tracks to let

eternal slumber take over.

𓍝

Don’t let it win.

Look at me, I’m here.

I don’t love myself

nor do I have my life

together -it’s in shambles

in my opinion- but

every self-destructive

urge is being fought and

bad habits are being fixed…

with the exception of human

flaw that occasionally kicks

a relapse into motion.

You may forget

for a time and

it’s okay to get lost

sometime as long

as you find your way

in the end.

It may be cliché,

someone else may

have said it before me,

but this is my truth.

🗡

Life is a war with

an abundant battles

where some you win

others you lose. Don’t

focus on a singular

fight when there is a war

to be won because that

is the end goal.
