In fields of green where we would play,
The endless summers slipped away.
With laughter bright and hearts so free,
Those days of youth, just you and me.

We built our castles out of sand,
And chased the waves hand in hand.
No worries weighed upon our mind,
In childhood’s world, where time was kind.

Our secret forts, our whispered dreams,
Were woven in the sunlit beams.
Through every tree and climbing wall,
We grew together, standing tall.

Now years have passed, the days are gone,
But in my heart, they still live on.
For in each smile, in every tear,
The memories of us are clear.

Though life may change and drift apart,
You’ll always be there in my heart.
For childhood friends, forever true,
Are part of me, and part of you.
