Chestnut Waves
A piece about the love of another’s eyes
By Simone MariePublished 9 months ago • 1 min read

Eyes are the window to the soul,
So they say.
His captivates me,
Iris’s created by the hands of God.
Warm notes of brown,
Not too dark, yet not so light.
Like an ocean when stared at too long, they pull me in.
Chestnut waves command me.
The gaze of an owl,
The manipulation of a vampire.
I don’t want to look away,
I won’t look away.
For the gravity of your gaze is keeping me afloat,
Don’t you dare let me go.
For a swimmer I’m not,
But a diver I’ll be
Just to submerge myself in your chestnut waves.
Eyes are more than a hue,
They’re symbolic to you.
