Cherished

Longings where the heart swims

looking for affirmation

all around

it lifts me up off the ground

looking for affirmation

from authority above

or space below, love

wasn’t I meant to be cherished?

~ ~ ~ ~

but you are, blessed son

your life has almost just truly begun

to grow better

by the day

in the way

you seek Me first

even when you feel at your worst

I promise, it’ll work with time

my Word is my line

above my Name

and your ugliest shame

see how your reflection

reflects from my own face

and grace

that’s carried you

as you grew

your brothers are different

that’s how I made them

but you’re unique

my Face you must continue to seek

Oh I love that line “my Word is my line” might be doing double duty—it’s a promise and a boundary.✨
