It's all the same
Just an uncomfortable numbing pain
The kind you can't just shake off
So you have to sit there ready to let it leap off
It's strange how you can feel betrayed
When no trust was ever built there in the first place
Strange to feel cheated on
When you never had him
Only just getting led on
A toy I am to them
A toy I seem to be to men
I have finally given up hope
That maybe one day
I'll stay afloat
I don't believe in fairy tales
But Christ you didn't need to cause me so much grief
All because it was fun to mess with one girl
And let her feelings play on repeat
Here I am again
Pissed at myself for believing you
When really
It's just men who do this to me
Like a broken record
I'm left on repeat
So I imagine the next one
Will laugh
Seeing me on the same beat.

I met Jason when I was five years old. I could say that I loved him from the moment I saw him. He was so handsome to me and I felt in awe by his presence. When they introduced him as the new kid in school, I wanted to be his friend right away. I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember his smile and how he didn't seem shy. He appeared confident and ready to learn. I waved at him and said "hello," before anyone else could even say a word. He sat next to me, and I asked him if he wanted to be friends.
