Oh human, why do you blame me so?

I am just a small and feeble creature,

Living out my days as best I can,

Feeding on the blood that I need to survive.

You call me a pest and a curse,

But I am just trying to live my life,

You swat and spray and trap,

But still I persist, for I am strong.

You say I bring disease and pain,

But that is not my intention,

I am just following my instinct,

Trying to survive in this world.

You curse my name and loathe my kind,

But have you ever stopped to think,

That perhaps we are not so different,

Both trying to live and thrive in this world.

You call me a scourge upon your existence,

But without me, the balance would shift,

For I am a part of the ecosystem,

And my role is important, though small it may be.

So do not blame me, oh human,

For the troubles that I bring,

For I am just a mosquito,

Trying to live and survive in this world.
