Chasing Shadows: HER

The poem tells the story of someone who loves deeply but can never be loved back. Each comparison—like the moon or the sun—represents the pain of wanting someone who remains out of reach. Despite their feelings, the love is one-sided, leaving them with only memories and aching silence.

You are like tears, both joy and sorrow,

Your presence, a heartache I can't borrow.

Like the moon, you're close yet distant,

Your radiance, a vision persistent.

You're like the sun, so radiant and bright,

But your brilliance blinds my sight.

And just like a character in your own story,

You're both near and far, my love's allegory.

You're like a melody, sweet and enchanting,

But I'm just a chord, silently panting.

You're the horizon, stretching beyond reach,

A dream I chase, but cannot breach.

You're like a rose, blooming with grace,

Yet your thorns, they leave their trace.

You're the breeze, gentle and serene,

Whispering secrets I've never seen.

You're like a painting, a masterpiece divine,

Captivating, but never truly mine.

You're the rain, refreshing and pure,

Yet drowning me in longing, I endure.
