chartreuse

the colors within

By Kennedy Wright Published 5 years ago 1 min read

i am chartreuse— youthful, ever-growing, with a sureness in my step

smiling from the inside

shades of greens and yellow envelop my being, and i am calm

surrounded by nature, wherever i am

tell me the story again about your favorite green sweater

why does it make you feel so secure

when you lost it, had a piece of you gone missing

you’re always searching to know for sure

i am scarlet red— passion overtakes

i am the courageous swimmer of the deep

i am warm with affection

i am limitless joy available at your fingertips

scarlet red sex

warps the mind

scarlet red hex

hard to confine

beige lives within us, often overlooked

pure, flexible, serene

not needing to relish in the spotlight

my beige can adapt

not in control; simply here

beige is our teacher

beige does not hurt or destroy or silence

i can be beige too

just as i am scarlet red

just as i am chartreuse
