Charming
Spotting an abuser.
My father is a liar.
When you meet him at the sore,
sweet manners he will deplore.
The charm painted on thick.
I warn you of his ire.
Hope you will heed my message
for he will start his visage.
His face shift with warm smile.
I pray it will not stick.
He will tell you he is good,
but that is misunderstood.
The truth is stretched thin.
Omitted is the vile.
Harm committed to his wife,
then introduced to our life.
He gave his kids cruelty.
His farce play will begin.
Starts with a joke, compliments,
praise to you never relents.
My cry for help you doubt.
His monster locked with key.
He then keeps his claws in place,
sunken to control my face.
Why plead when you ignore?
Quickly, prod, force him out.
Father is habits you buy,
Drunken truths and bitter lie.
Do not shop at his store.
