constant sounds of rumbling dreams
walking feet on broken concrete
a place where luxury and hardships greet
a mix of harsh reality and a floating daydream
from the barrios where the hands of labor
make and break the bread
and where street lights and fight for just rights
radiate and aid the struggle
a time and place where revivals begin to bubble
traffic jams and music blasting from the 605
metro stations filled people of all times
moving through the congested vessels
though I wouldn't witness and experience
this city any other way
my love for it has grown through my skin
into my heart and has fit into my everlasting soul
a part of me I refuse to withhold
As I will always return and share its abundance with the world.
