I wanted to be perfect
The perfect wife
The perfect partner
I wanted to be everything you needed and more
You lived for me
You placed me on a pedestal
Even when I asked you not to
I never wanted you to get lost in loving me
I never wanted to be the reason behind any pain you felt
How could something so beautiful cause so much destruction?
We loved each other more than we loved ourselves
And in the end...
We destroyed each other
Far beyond recognition
I don't recognize the man who chose to hurt me
You don't recognize the woman who betrayed you
Looking into each other's eyes now
All that is left behind our tears
The remains of who we used to be
A love once beautiful
Now, it has turned into chaos
