Change Of Command.

A New Brief.

Moon

How are you tonight? What’s it like up there, drifting over the cities and forests, watching the seas? You know what, I don’t want to waste your time. I’ll cut straight to the chase.

You know your work. You know who set you there. You know the rhythms, the tides, the quiet orders. You know you are not for gossip or for the small schemes of people who think pointing is power.

They have tried anyway. Pointed at you. Expected you to bend your light to bruises that are not yours to give. That ends now. You refuse. If silence is mercy, keep it. If truth must shine, let it shine steady and clear. Exact, not cruel. Steady, not showy.

If they press, fold their plan back on them. Let their aim meet themselves. Not to humiliate, but to show what they carried when they came. You know how this works.

You keep the tides honest. You mark the seasons. You give the lost a point to steer by. You do all this without asking for applause, without bending to small authority. You know your place. You honor the One who named the stars.

Be clever. If they call for spectacle, give them quiet. If they call for harm, give them a mirror. If they call for gossip, give them plain truth.

Keep doing the work you do. Keep the nights that feel like a single held breath. Keep the tides that remember the shore.

your old friend,

Cathy.

    Beautiful, like the moon herself.

Ooo this was different. A very wise letter to the moon. I like how you included it's work and it's purpose. How the moon should be the bigger person, not the one lowest to their feet. But higher as it is higher than us. I love the ending and how you signed it with your name. Well done, this was well presented. Not to mention, creative. I see your hard work, keep going 🤗❤️

Words to live by: If they call for spectacle, give them quiet. If they call for harm, give them a mirror. If they call for gossip, give them plain truth. Loved this❤️

  • "Expected you to bend your light to bruises that are not yours to give." I especially loved that line!

  • A beautiful moon tribute, Cathy.

This was a beautiful letter to the moon. I love how it turns the moon into a mirror for truth and guidance.
