Cerberus

Hades faithful hound

By Mark Stigers Published about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

I am Hades’s faithful hound.

I stand guard at his gate.

There’s no path that can be found,

by me for the dead to escape.

Three vicious heads are mine.

One watches the Past go by.

One looks to the Future’s line,

and one holds you in its eye.

I can smell your hidden fear.

I can see your stark fate.

None shall shed a single tear,

as your body I masticate.

In Hades I keep the dead,

Forever bared from the living.

I’ll fill your heart with dread.

Your mind, I cloud with misgivings.

I stand here at the gate,

between life and death.

It’s your choice to contemplate

for I have no regrets.
