It arrives blazing
a plume, a torch,
a flicker of fire rooted in earth.
Where others bloom in soft pastels,
celosia burns in crimson, gold,
magenta too fierce to fade.
the flower that forgot
how to be shy.
a challenge to dull skies
and modest gardens.
It doesn’t bend.
It stands not delicate,
but deliberate.
A bloom that remembers
what it means
to stand out
About the Creator
E. C. Mira
I’m a poet at heart, always chasing the quiet moments and turning them into words. Most of what I write is poetry, but every now and then inspiration pulls me in new directions.
