Celestial Thread
I know you know.
Is it really paradise
if we do not share it?
Yet you speak of it
with a silver tongue.
Are you truly growing
in the place you can’t get hurt?
Ask yourself
if your angel is beside you
as you ascend
the endless mountains
that bring you closer to the stars.
Does it compare
to when we lived among them?
I want to know
at what age you tucked away
your idea of love
in your inner child’s toybox.
In what city
did you hone your elusiveness?
In which body of water
did you almost drown in
to achieve your depth?
What book taught you that
it’s better to be a mystery?
Would you believe me when I say
that it’s harder
to give up on a dream
than to go after it?
When you are alone,
can you hear how loud
the silence is
of our expectations?
We could both change our lives with
the one conversation we won’t have
but
I could tell you the coordinates
of where I first kissed you,
I could tell you I sit alone
and admire the night sky
tracing the constellations
the way I did to your jawline.
I could point to the faintest stars and
it would feel like you are farther away.
But I tell myself
we are not defined
by the miles between us.
I could tell you
in my quietest moments
that it’s you
and always will be
and I know you still
feel it too.
I’ll never forget the day
when you told me
we were
cosmically connected.
About the Creator
Daniel K
I write love poems about the girl who has a hold over my heart and my life in such a way that neither are my own anymore. The girl I would choose over and over and over again. I love her, and that is the beginning and end of everything.

The entire poem was leading to that last line. Breathtaking!
