You are a goddess
Can't you see
The way your skin sparkles
The velvety darkness
Is the night sky
In all its splendour
Only those
Who can see your beauty
Notice the stars
And galaxies
And constellations
Your skin contains
Only those
Who look closely
See the divine
In the depths of your eyes
Please don't
Bleach your skin, Goddess
Bleach is for filth
Your skin is clean and pretty
When you lighten it
You remove the galaxies
Of our universe
Please don't
Wear coloured lenses, Goddess
Your eyes contain dark mysteries
Echoes of the swirls of the cosmos
When you cover it
We can't see the truth
Please don't
Tame your hair, Goddess
Your curls are wild
Like the earth itself
Your braids
Are the woven tapestry
Of time itself
You remind us all
Of our truest nature
That we are of the universe
That we are of the earth
Made of stardust
And earthdust
And swirls of celestial beauty
Every person
Of every colour
Is celestial
And divine
Just like you
But something
Or someone
Took it from us
Made us mundane
And ordinary
But your celestial skin
And wild earth hair
And deep, mysterious eyes
Force us to look at what was lost
See what we're all lacking
That authenticity
That natural beauty
Everything that is divine in us
You contain it all
If only you could see
If only you stopped believing
The lies of my ancestors
About the Creator

I like to write, if that makes me a writer, then rock on!
I started writing as a child because I ran out of stuff to read. So, I only write stuff that I like. If you like it too, awesome! Enjoy! ^_^
