They’ve finally called for order… I think.
For peace to reign,
For the ravaging fire to cease, the killings to desist.
Dawn finally breaks in conflicting cities,
Smoke fading to nay.
______
And sure, I am nothing but an outsider in all of this,
But how can we swiftly move past the damage-
The damage these pointless wars leave behind?
The smoke may fade, the fire doused,
Yet the flames burn sharper within me.
________
It stings.
Bodies fall in the streets, six feet deep in lowly pits,
A fight that was never theirs.
_______
They lived on the ground, weren’t pushed from heights,
Yet they’re buried deeper into the soil,
Made to fall— By those at the top, the high and mighty,
Pulling strings to pander to their egos,
To guard the “wealth” and power they hold.
______
Shouldn’t those at the top fall shamefully when they mess up?
Certainly yes—
But no,
not in our world.
___
Not when they can so easily kick us,
The ones already down, to remedy their crimes.
We are their scapegoats,
The subjects of their tests, their wars.
_______
When wrath bursts forth,
It falls to us like snow,
Like stones,
Like water.
For the ground bears it all—
A shield for what the high discard,
A grave for what they no longer need.
______
The rule of law states no one is above the law.
No one is… and that’s true.
For me. For you.
For anyone without titles,
Anyone without states attached to their name.
The NO ONES.
_______
If you open your eyes to the charade,
Close your ears to the sweet lies they tell—
You’ll see it.
Remove yourself from their equation,
Stand apart to question the generality of equality.
Ask: To whom am I equal?
To all—or just those I can manage to step over?
______
You will see the unfairness they’ve shrouded—
In masks, in words, in themselves—
To hide the trampling of fundamental rights.
______
Listen closely.
Without you or me as parts—
Don’t you see how we are mere shadows along their lines.
______
The rule of law States is above the law—
Those who govern us,
The ones we elect in this so-called democracy.
They make the rules, they break them.
But we, the governed, are bound to obey.
We who follow are bound to pay for their sins.
______
We are scapegoats in this expanse of life’s authority.
If we refuse? Rebel?
One pays—and all pay with them.
________
The states stay high.
The ground stays bound,
The law pressing harder to keep us down.
Rebels make it no easier.
The government makes it harder still.
_____
And so, one—
A no one—
Must rise.
To refine justice, to anchor equality,
To ensure that even the highest can no longer stand above.
To rise—
To tether the law to all.

Ahhh! I feel so sad for the children who are being killed by the worst humans. What did all those kids do? We want a cease-fire in Palestine for sure!!
Great job - why do we have to keep fighting?
