Caught

In the grey

Flashing blackness

Closing in

A vignette

On my periphery

Even farther

Then I can normally see

Encroaching daily

On my abilities

Stopping my advancement

Causing sluggish

Inflexibility

No's and I can'ts

All that I speak

Focusing impossible

Completion a dream

Dreams evaporated

In the heat of the firing squad

As I cried for them

In the dust

By the guard stand

Squalid and dirty

Like a baby eating

A Popsicle

From the sand

Mother barking and flailing

I stare blankly

Ingesting filth

Unflinchingly

Gazing on at her performance

It is exactly on brand

This one’s wild and intense! The way it captures that feeling of being stuck and overwhelmed? Perfectly done.✨
