For Ellie Hoovs' Wonderland Challenge - Day 8
In this life,
There are no promises,
No guarantees,
Only wishes
Made from our knees.
We hope
For happiness,
For wealth,
Please let us keep
Our fragile health.
Caught up in the days,
Ignorant during the nights,
We are blind,
We are deaf
To what is most divine.
If we would
Only stop
To think
And notice
Before it is gone in a blink.
Appreciate the simple,
The beautiful,
The miracles
That surround us
As actions become reciprocals.
Like a fortunate caterpillar,
Grateful
As it inches along,
Admiring a universe so vast,
It only knows how to belong.
But one day,
That caterpillar
Will see
Just how beautiful
Life was meant to be.
