Casting the Light

A heart exalted

By Colleen WaltersPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 3 min read

She was born to be compassion in the human form, her heart pulsating with light. Her adoration for every living thing always in the forefront as she looked at her world in awe. Nothing escaped her gaze- every butterfly, every Lilac blossom, every dandelion , even an ant seemed to captivate her senses and sent her reeling into a world where spirits danced and heralded her presence. She flitted back and forth between the two worlds like a tiny hummingbird flitting between flowers. She became a beacon for the lost, the lonely, the confused, the hopeful and defeated as they poured themselves out to her. Many of them compelled to be near her without knowing why, not realizing that she was , and is, taking away their bad energy and replacing it with a sunrise in their very spirit and souls. Even she doesn’t know why they’re drawn to her but her soul embraces each soul with a gentle nod.

Her comfort wrapped around them like a warm blanket on a chilly night, her heart constantly beating like a drum to bring them near.

She thought of love lost and love denied and her tears cascaded like a mountain stream in springtime down her checks and onto her neck, soaking her long hair. Her heart was always on the outside, so vulnerable, and the pain of a thousand hearts coursed through her spirit like a wild river.

The moonlight spilled across her as she lay in the darkness and she thought about the heart that got away, the one that she knew would never have been hers from the very beginning. And as the hot tears fell as a waterfall , they slowly lost their heat and she felt the cool tracks where they had splashed onto her warm skin.

Then she wondered if she could ever lay her own heart open conditionally , and quickly realized that she was not made that way. From the beginning of Time , she was meant to be a beacon for those in the darkness, so that her Light could reach them so that they cast it to others suffering in the darkness. No, her heart was just as it should be, doing what it must to rescue the souls who would send her very lifeblood, her Light, into the darkness as far as it will go.

And she felt better knowing that her hurt was caused by her own heart spreading Love- her very own heart was a gift never to be locked , but embraced and set free. Her gifts were still not fully known but they all radiated out from the magnetic pull of her beating heart.

Each hurt soul being embraced by the empathic mind, cradled in love and healed before being given back with a simple touch on the arm or a smile.

Her power is all- encompassing and when she learns fully what and who she is, she will be unstoppable as she battles evil . An ethereal mix of Pisces and Venus, she frequently feels out of her element in this world but she is as mutable as she is magnetic so she changes to meet the needs of the souls who seek her.

Discernment is a blooming gift for her and leaves her confused and unsure. She’ll soon wear it like a starry hairpiece, dazzling and gentle but with unworldly power surging beneath.

Her compassion and empathy she wears like a gown jeweled with the stars and lit by the Sun. She will never be in true darkness- the Sun will cast her Light to the Moon to show this creature off to the heavens and to beckon the souls who need her. A chorus of a thousand angels drifts on the breeze of her soul, singing of love and adoration for her and her compassion is exalted throughout the universe. And her heart is beating like a drum, beckoning the souls who need her.

A voice softly says” you are fearfully and wonderfully created to be exactly what you are.”

“ You are enough.”

Just re-read this. It’s really interesting re-reading things years later. It’s very beautiful still.

Compassion is such a gift and a burden, depending on the moment. Well done!
