Can You See the Artist Painting in the Sky?
Poetry in motion when you look at the sky

Do you ever just stop and look at the sky,
Look at nature’s canvas with a different eye,
The different colors for each time of day
And what do the clouds have to say?
On this morning, shades of pink and red,
As the sun rises from its sleepy bed.
I wonder how this day will end,
What messages will the clouds send?
The shades of red give way to blue,
The color of a deep ocean hue,
And clouds roll in from parts unknown,
The artist’s portrait is yet to be shown.
Light, fluffy clouds confused in scenes,
As if the artist does not know what they mean,
Frustration shows as clouds turn grey,
Destroying the peace and harmony of the day.
The thunder claps a warning sign,
“Don’t judge me,” when I can’t make up my mind.
“I’m an artist, my work will be what it will be,
Tomorrow will be a new piece, wait and see.”
And as the artist calls it quits and packs up for today,
The sky goes black, no longer grey,
The curtain falls to end this day,
What will tomorrow’s painting have to say?
Till next time, thank you for reading my poem.

I find so much inspiration and joy in looking at the sky at dawn and at dusk. This was magical and very inspiring. I love the story you weaved and the use of colours throughout. Thank you for sharing this as one of the submissions to the anthology. I will make a note in the comments of the one I pick from you, when I decide. Thanks again!
I love this Calvin as I’m a person who looks at the sky and sees pictures in the clouds. 😍
