When you look at me what do you see ?
My long black dreads
My big round brown eyes
Or do you see the nice pink smile of my lips
Hiding the red quick tongue
That’s always ready to unleash
Or my soft beige skin now filled with tiger stripes
Reinforcing my thighs my butt and breast
Do you see that sacred hue
The one that shines effortlessly
The one not many get to see
The one I just opened my eyes too
The yellow bright radiance you can’t deny
The one that makes people smile
Can you see the feminine
How about the masculine
Can you see my fear
How about the dread
Can you tell I was toxic?
How about the faded black and blues?
Do you see what I see ?
The third eye peeking through
Intuition and confidence raining in
The slow release of validation
No longer allowing strangers to define me
Can you see I no longer care about what you think
Can you feel your power dwindling
I hope you see all my colors because I now shine with or without you
