Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be?
By: Mahenow
Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be?
A question that echoes through the depths of identity, resounding so profoundly.
In the innocence of youth, a spirit untamed,
Unburdened by expectations, untouched by worldly claims.
Before the world cast its judgmental gaze,
And imposed its standards, dictating our ways.
We danced with abandon, embracing our truth,
Unfettered by conformity, in the days of our youth.
But slowly, the whispers of society's voice,
Began to mold us, reshape our choice.
We traded our dreams for societal applause,
Compromising authenticity, concealing our flaws.
Yet, deep within, a flicker remains,
A longing to rediscover our forgotten refrains.
To strip away the layers, the masks we wear,
And embrace our essence, unfiltered and rare.
So let us reclaim our truest selves,
Breaking free from the shackles that society delves.
Unearthing passions, embracing our quirks,
Rekindling the fire, igniting our sparks.
For within us lies a spirit untamed,
A voice awaiting to be heard, unashamed.
Can you remember who you were, before the world's decree?
Embrace that essence, and set yourself free.
