There are those who would see you dead, Spending more money on weapons Rather than giving homeless bread, Handing children guns to go kill No education or a bed.

Sending forth their young; Innocent, naïve, ignorant For god and a cause, Destroying life held dearly all Igniting passions

None acting for peace To think only me Old beg for reprieve. Brothers and sisters are dying, Trying to find a solution

End the corruption, pollution. A haze not of soot but of hate, Pulsing poison through the body, Introduced not by our own hand, It is now a habit, a need

Dissolution forms foundation, The cornerstone of the nation The backs are weary, Shirts are stained with sweat, Hours grow longer Pay is less.

No time to think or to create, Yearning for a peace To replace the hate. A time to reflect, To read, To draw, To sing, To stop and enjoy, What can be for all.

The whistle has blown, The bell has been tolled, The canary dead, Shovels are thrown down Tired are we of Finding neighbours dead.

Ears have been deafened, Minds have become numb, Hearts have grown weary Anger growing fast. Tensions are building

It's hard to believe A nation once independent Hangs only by a barren thread, Still, they want you dead.
