Can we… worship Him?

….a spoken word poem.

Can we be obsessed with You,

not in the way they warn us about

not in the thundering persona that seems too hard to reach,

Or the “fear of God” that causes us to hide our sins.

Writing God in capital G,

all cap locks “HE”

while ignoring him?

*

Can we be obsessed for real?

In the way a heart forgets itself

just whispering Your name…

in the way our pulse remembers

that You’re the reason it came?

*

Can we fan over You a little?

Beyond the borders of fanatic,

beyond what feels safe or automatic.

Can we fall, headfirst, in awe of Yahweh?

*

oh, the breath that powers my lungs,

the rhythm in every song I’ve sung.

*

Let’s memorize Scripture again.

not for a quiz,

or bible in a year checklist,

but like a love letter we can’t stop rereading,

like an inhaler we stay needing,

like oxygen our souls keep pleading.

*

Can I end my day

on bruised knees,

grinning in the glow of Your presence as midnight surrounds me,

not for clout, not for show,

but because my soul has nowhere else to go?

*

Naked and unashamed,

like Eden before the fall.

as You piece me together,

softly,

sacredly,

piece by holy piece..

You make me whole in peace.

*

Could we love You beyond a phase?

beyond summer camps and ccm highs,

beyond the holy hymns and trad wives aesthetics

beyond church trends and faith tees,

But every day,

until this dust fades away.

*

Could You be the center of our gaze?

The way we look up

when the weight gets too much,

when darkness spreads like ink across our skies,

could You be the star we cling to guide?

*

Could we long for Your word

the way we hunger for attention,

or crave the echo of flattering mentions,

scrolling for hours searching for something

we lost

when we left the garden?

*

Could we be passionate,

not polished,

not perfect,

but burning,

returning in the cold,

yearning even at home?

*

Could we take our derailed desires,

our misplaced loves,

and lay them at Your altar?

as wildflowers to the tomb

that no longer holds the dead.

*

So here I am, Lord,

raw and restless.

Can I lay all of me

at Your feet?

*

Can we..

can we truly worship him for real?

Oh yes, we can! 😇 every thing we do is for Him, and even the fakers are already known and being worked on. This is very lovely and the kind of worship that is an answer to the Great Commission given to us all. Beautiful thoughts here. ❤️☀️💫🤩🌙✨💚🌺
