Follow the path

that leads your heart to freedom,

though damage is common.

Forget reality —

you’ve changed the purpose of my tomorrow.

Turning me time into we time

is a pleasant surprise worth reopening,

just to relive our first connection.

I haven’t mastered coping

without the presence of your peace —

you’ve stolen my need for solitude.

Sharing space feels inevitable;

separation only breeds questions

that don’t matter.

Foundation feels underrated

until love strikes the core.

I search for excuses

to stall,

to avoid feelings

I still believe I’m unworthy of.

How selfish —

to ignore the chill of your touch

without realizing your grip is irresistible.

Your grace inspires passion

like a river with no end,

though I still hesitate

to embrace us.

I can’t admit my surrender…

but I am

undeniably

in love with a stranger.
