My eyes open..

Big yawn! Bigger stretch!

No one's home.

What to do, what to- Ooh, food!

Nibbles and bites and morsels to spare.

The full bowl turns empty and my empty belly turns full.

Now... what to do, what to- BOX!!!

I dive inside!

This box is mine!

My fortress of catitude!

I bat. I swat. I bite. I inhabit my fortress.

“Premium Cat Toy” doesn't equal premium fun!

I curl up in a ball, just the right size for my fortress.

I hear a noise.

DOOR!!!

He's back! My Baby Human is back!

Run, run, run!

His favorite chair.

Jump.

He can't miss me here!

I meow and bat gently.

Come here Baby Human!

You've been out in the world;

I've got to clean you!

Clean, clean, clean.

Clean hands, clean arms, clean elbows.

I bat.

Baby Human leans down.

Clean nose, clean cheeks.

I purr.

Baby Human moseys around the house,

Making food

For me

For him

Reading his books

Writing his papers

I keep watch

He is my Baby Human after all!

Baby Human wants to sleep.

I watch him go into his room.

I follow.

Jump on the bed.

Jump on him.

I ignore his protests as I make biscuits on his chest and tummy.

I drape myself across his chest, head and chin over his heart.

I look at my now sleeping Baby Human.

Happiness.

Ba-bum.

Contentment.

Ba-bum.

Sleep.

I especially like this line, “My fortress of catitude!”
