Calico Girl
Feline poetry inspired by magnetic poetry prompts.
Calico girl wonder'd free,
Through stones and by the river's lea
Amidst the green of moss and fern,
She danced, a sight for all to learn.
Like a white song, she pranced along,
Her movements light, her spirit strong.
And when a little prey she spied,
She crouched, she pounced, she conquered with pride.
But then, a sudden shift of mood,
Her sights set on a different food.
She turned to those who dared to pass,
And pounced on them with a mighty sass.
Her claws would dig in furniture fine,
And she would bask in her owner's whine.
For though her ways were wild and free,
She loved her life of luxury.
So let her roam and hunt and play,
For in her own wild way,
She brings joy to all she meets,
This calico girl, so full of treats.

Good description of cat behavior. I have one. He's an orange boy.
