what is it about
away from home tables
and a hot fresh coffee
made by a stranger (initially)
that is so conducive
to writing ?
i imagine
probably won't happen but
i could write on the train
or a bus or a ferry
for that matter
give me somewhere
to be as it all goes by
and i will bare
an almost silent witness
barring the tap tap tap
it's all the nothing
that could be something
you can almost
smell the words somedays
mine theirs everyone's
these wafting tendrils
careen through senses
sinuously bulleted
from one consciousness
to the next
gathering and distributing
but rarely
do we stop and take note
and tomorrow
maybe another place
or it may be the same
tomorrow
can take care of tomorrow
i'm not finished
with today!

This poem beautifully captures the unique inspiration that comes from writing in public spaces and encourages us to appreciate the beauty of the world around us.
Oh, I liked this! I appreciated the form you used with all lowercase and very little punctuation. It just flowed and felt so personal. Plus you had me at coffee :) Great work!
