Trying hard to breathe
In a stuffy house
Where the windows
Are frozen
Shut
I gasp when I look down at my
Ghost white and shockingly
Hairy legs
I may peel out of
My pajamas today
Or not as sometimes it
Is too much trouble
And anyway I will need
To get right back into
Them
Soon
For a nap
Or bedtime
Once again
Falling into the abyss
Or another long night
Waiting patiently until
I can go outside
Once again
When there is no arctic tundra
When the fresh air can trickle in
When I can feel the breeze on my
Neck
While I pedal my
Wheels towards freedom
And warmth
