Bye Bye Baby
A song was playing at the satiation, The train took him

Bye Bye Baby
They played our song, Bye Bye Baby,
as he stepped onto the train,
a wave, a smile, a brave salute,
I blinked back tears in vain.
Steam was rising, whistles blew,
his eyes stayed locked on mine.
I knew right then, without a word,
we’d run out of time.
I didn’t show it, I didn’t cry,
just let the music play.
It filled the gap his silence left
when he was pulled away.
That song still haunts the quiet nights,
I hear it soft and slow
Bye Bye Baby in my chest,
where all the sorrows go.
Off he went back home,
he said he was only going for the sake of his kids.
he didn’t know I was pregnant,
but he was back with in a week.

I remember that group. What a poem for making decisions in certain relationships.
Fabulous poem, and well written.
