By the Time You Realise I am gone Poem 1
Goodbye is too much so I am just going to go

By the Time You Realise I am gone
By the time you realise I am gone
the kettle will cool on the stove
my scent will linger for a while
on sheets you never bothered to change
I will not slam the door
there will be no note
no final plea in lipstick
on your mirror’s tired face
You will wake to silence
no rattle of breakfast
no hum of me
moving through your day
I packed in the hush
where you once kept your care
and took only what was mine
including myself
He waits for me
in a place where words are warm
where hands are not always reaching
but sometimes hold
By the time you realise
what was standing beside you
it will be dust settling
in a room you forgot to see
I will be making a new life with my new love

That's telling him, Marie. What a good way of moving on. Good job.
Too many people don't take care of what they have. great take on the situation
Quietly devastating, but beautifully written.
