By the storm you prevail!

Through roaring waves across the depths,

The sound of thunder proclaimed in the night,

The passing through the tossing seas,

Neither sun, nor guiding light,

The maelstroms churning through the waters,

With hearts and spirits so contrite,

Sailors melt upon the seas,

Though hope would say despite,

Staggering and stumbling like drunkards,

Tossed back to and fro,

Waves to assault and winds to howl,

Speaking of the doom they surely know,

Yet through it all, and from it all,

They gain such strength and might,

Yet through it all, and from it all,

They gain the will to fight.
