Butterfly Love

An Ode To Romance and Love

I have danced from flower to flower, like a butterfly on the wind.

Like a fallen angel from heaven above who has never, ever sinned.

Chrysanthemums and roses, I didn’t really care.

I flounced on all kinds of petals, my love I liked to share.

But lately I’ve been thinking, it’s time I settled down.

I can’t go on forever, like a three-ring-circus-clown.

I really do believe, It is truly, duly time and I am ready to arrive.

I can hardly take it in, how I managed to survive.

I suppose true love can be difficult to find, I often wondered why,

I could never make up my mind.

Perhaps it’s true what they say,

true love is often blind.

I’m going to take a little time.

I’m going to watch the sun go down.

I’m going to look up to the night and I’m going to count

all the stars that there are in the sky.

I don’t know why.

Maybe it’s because I have arrived.

The above poem was inspired by Jacques Brel with his stunning and beautifully orchestrated J'Arrive. Enjoy.

Really enjoyed this poem Ralph :) Also a song I’ve never heard of! A little too much drama in the music for my liking though 😉😅
