Butterfly

Learning

By Vicki LucasPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Oh pretty little butterfly, flying all around my garden

I would like to talk to you, if you would beg my pardon

I love the pretty colours on all four of your wings

I love the way you fly about, I love all sorts of things

Now Mummy says the way you taste, is with your little feet

Is that really true? I think it’s pretty neat

Imagine if to taste a cake, a toe I must put in

That’s really really funny, it truly makes me grin

So, you like to drink some nectar, with your tongue that’s like a straw?

I’ve seen you land on flowers, I didn’t know what for

You used to be a caterpillar, just eating lots of stuff

But then you just stopped eating ,when you knew you had enough

You went upside down and made yourself a lovely chrysalis

And when a butterfly you became, you climbed right out of this

I think you’re very clever, and very pretty too

I wish I was a butterfly so I could fly with you
